This is the Yatri Project Zero, an electric motorcycle developed and manufactured in Nepal. Manufactured by Yatri Motorcycles, the Project Zero is priced at NPR 19.45 lakh , which amounts to approximately INR 12.85 lakh. It can accelerate from 0-60km/h in 2.5 seconds and can cover 230 kilometres in a single charge.

Electric motorcycles are the future and there is no doubting this. Almost all mainstream and established two-wheeler manufacturers have either already launched an EV or are developing one to be launched soon. The real gems of the EV industry though, have come from startups.

Yatri Motorcycles is one such startup. Based in Nepal, the brand has developed a good-looking premium electric motorcycle. It is called the Project Zero and looks quite inspired by the Husqvarna Vitpilen series of motorcycles.

Up front is a circular LED headlamp. It also gets chopped mudguards, and a crouched riding position. The Project Zero features a cafe racer styling and rides on spoked wheels. The features list includes keyless operation, automatically switching off indicators, etc.

Instrumentation duties are handled by a 7-inch TFT display with a built-in 4G connection for over-the-air updates. The screen also gets the navigation feature. The motorcycle weighs in at around 180 kilograms which is not too heavy considering the significant weight of the battery pack.

Powering the Yatri Project Zero is an 8kWh lithium-nickel-manganese pouch cell battery pack that sends power to a 48kW motor. According to Yatri Motorcycles, the Project Zero can do the 0-60km/h run in under 2.5 seconds and it gets a range of 230 kilometres.

Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm upside-down fork up front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is taken care of by a 320mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear. The 17-inch spoked wheels are shod with Metzeler Sportec M7RR tyres.

The Yatri Project Zero does feature some good specs, but it comes at a premium. At Rs 12.85 lakh, it is definitely the most-expensive electric motorcycle in this part of the world. The brand hasn’t revealed any export plans and hence we do not see it coming to India anytime soon.

Thoughts On Yatri Motorcycles’ Project Zero Electric Motorcycle
The performance and specs offered by the Yatri Project Zero is definitely impressive by EV standards. The price though, definitely isn’t impressive even by EV standards. Some of the other brilliant motorcycles that can be bought within the Rs 12.85 lakh mark are, Triumph Street Triple RS, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, Honda CBR650R, etc. Would you want to buy an electric motorcycle with a fraction of the performance for a higher price than these, is the question to be asked.
