Yamaha launches the updated FZS-Fi models in India and the 2022 model of the Yamaha FZS-Fi range gets refreshed styling. Apart from that, Yamaha has also launched the 2022 FZS-Fi Dlx in India. The new 2022 Yamaha FZ-S Fi is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), whereas the more premium Dlx is priced at Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Over the years, Yamaha has launched numerous updates of the Yamaha FZ range since 2008 to keep the motorcycle up to date with the latest styling preferences and trends.

This Year, the new Yamaha FZS-Fi range comes with new colour options. The standard Yamaha FZ-S Fi gets two new shades – Matt Red and Matt Blue, on the other hand, the more premium Yamaha FZS-Fi Dlx comes in three different colour schemes – Metallic Black, Metallic Deep Red, Solid Grey.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Eishin Chihana, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies said, “Under The Call of the Blue initiative, we will continue to reach out to our customers and upgrade our product range to meet their evolving needs. One such upgrade is the launch of FZS-FI Dlx model which is based on our customer’s feedback.”

Apart from that, the updated Yamaha FZS-Fi Dlx gets a few more new features such as coloured alloy wheels, new graphics, dual-tone seats, LED turn indicators and taillamps. However, the standard FZ-S Fi only gets the LED taillamps with the update.

Moreover, the 2022 Yamaha FZ-S Fi and FZS-Fi Dlx get Yamaha’s latest Bluetooth-enabled instrument console. By pairing this console to the Connect-X App, users will be able to access features such as Answer Back, Locate my Vehicle, Parking Record & Hazard, and Riding History.

Mechanically, the Yamaha FZ range remains identical to the previous models with its 149cc 2-valve SOHC Blue-Core engine producing 12.2bhp at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Apart from that, the new Yamaha FZ range gets single-channel ABS for added safety.

The launch of the FZS-FI Dlx variant will enhance the premium appeal of the FZ model range further as the all-LED lighting setup makes the FZS-FI Dlx & FZS-FI more modern, and the striking colour combinations on the FZS-FI Dlx with Led Flashers truly reflect the global spirit of Yamaha Racing.” He added.

Introducing the Yamaha FZ range of motorcycles in India can be said as a turning point for the Japanese brand in India and the model was first introduced in the country back in 2008. Moreover, the Yamaha FZ range of motorcycles can also be credited for revolutionising the 150cc motorcycle segment in India.

The initial FZ series in India featured a 153cc carburetted 2-valve SOHC engine and this unit produced 13.8bhp and 13.6Nm of torque. However, in 2014, Yamaha updated the Yamaha FZ range with an all-new fuel-injected 149cc engine.
