Recently, TVS had released a 15-second teaser of the upcoming TVS Apache RTR 165 RP motorcycle via the company’s official social media handle. Later, it was announced that the upcoming TVS Apache RTR 165 RP would be a limited-edition motorcycle from the Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer.

TVS has now announced that all the 200 units of the Apache RTR 165 RP have been sold out. Speaking about the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP, it is the first bike from TVS Motors under the ‘Race Performance’ series.

The TVS Apache 165 RP is a higher performing variant of the popular Apache RTR 160 4V and it sports a slightly bigger engine and a few other upgrades over the Apache RTR 160 4V.

Speaking about the upgrades, the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP comes with a few cosmetic changes to distinguish itself from the standard model and comes with special decals on the fuel tank and fairing.

Apart from that, the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP also features a dual-tone seat, red grab rails and matching alloy wheels to stand out from the crowd and let others know that the user is not riding a regular model.
The new TVS Apache RTR 165 RP also features a slightly stiffer chassis and according to TVS, the uprated chassis is around 25 per cent stiffer compared to the standard Apache RTR 160 4V.

However, in terms of features, the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP continues to use the tried-and-tested feature list from the Apache RTR 160 4V such as LED DRLs, LED headlamps, LED taillamps, fully-digital instrument console, adjustable levers, double-barrel exhaust and a few more.

Powering the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is a 164.9cc single-cylinder 4-valve SOHC engine. This new engine produces 18.93bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of torque at 8,750rpm. Thanks to the uprated engine, the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is also the most powerful motorcycle in its segment.

In comparison, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V churns out 17.30bhp at 9,250rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 7,250rpm (sport mode). This power figure reduces to just 15.42bhp and 14.14Nm of torque in Urban and Rain modes.

Though the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP continues to use the 5-speed gearbox carried forward from the TVS APAche RTR 160 4V, it comes with an upgraded braking setup. The Apache RTR 165 RP comes with disc brakes at both ends as standard and the rear disc brake is now larger at 240mm for better braking.
The TVS Apache RTR 165 RP also comes with dual-channel ABS and a brass-coated chain. However, the limited-edition motorcycle is slightly expensive at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
