Traeger Grills and Indian Motorcycles teamed up to create a motorcycle with a wood-fired grille for a sidecar. Not surprisingly, we’re in love.
There are plenty of things to love about summer, but if we at Gear Patrol had to sit down and make a list, there are two items that we can guarantee would be near the top of the list: Motorcycling and barbeque. So you can probably see how we might be intrigued by the one-off Indian motorcycle seen here.
To create the build, See See Motorcycles builder and incredibly-named human Thor Drake took a Traeger Ironwood 885 wood pellet grill and affixed it in sidecar fashion to an Indian Springfield Darkhorse, the company’s beefy bagger. The cooker, of course, is fully functional; the press release claims the Trager can even cook away while the bike is in motion, though the idea of riding a motorcycle next to an active grille strikes us as a slightly foolish endeavor.
The Indian/Traeger hybrid made its debut last weekend at the 79th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, where it cooked up tasty meats for anyone who stopped by and test-rode an Indian at the company’s display. We wish we’d known about it earlier — if we had, we’d have called Traeger and Indian up and begged them to haul it out to the Mid-Atlantic Overland Festival we’ll be at this upcoming weekend. As it stands, we’ll just have to hope they decide to roll it our way before the weather turns cold.
