The new 2019 spring line from Aether continues the trend with the Divide motorcycle jacket as the flagship and as a follow up to the much-loved Expedition jacket.

Aether prides itself on its stylish, minimalist-yet-functional everyday clothing. And as it turns out, the owners are avid adventure motorcycle riders, so that ethos translates to the brand’s Moto line as well. The new 2019 spring line from Aether continues the trend of making stylish gear for adventure rides, with the Divide motorcycle jacket serving as the flagship of the line—and a follow-up to the much-loved Expedition jacket.
As much as the Expedition was a fan favorite, Aether listened to customer feedback about where it needed improvement, then implemented the changes on the Divide. As such, the Divide comes with larger side pockets and, unlike the Expedition, comes with a seam-sealed Gore-Tex liner for multi-climate versatility.
Building on top of the new additions, the Divide brings back multiple Velcro cinch straps on the arms and waist, a three-layer abrasion resistant outer shell and, of course, CE-rated D3O protective armor at the elbows, shoulders, back, and chest.
The downside, out of the gate at least, is the price jump. The Divide comes in at $995 whereas the Expedition is $750.
The Divide is the next step in Aether’s ADV-centric gear, but it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Expedition—and whether the extra engineering warrants the loftier price tag. We’re looking forward to finding out.
