The 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban are two super-popular full-size SUVs. Because of their large stature, they cost a little more than a lot of other, smaller SUVs. Yet they’ve recently become even more expensive, thanks to a third price increase since their debut. Here’s how much the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban cost now, and whether it’s likely that we’re done seeing their increases.

android, the 2022 chevy suburban and 2022 chevy tahoe just got more expensive

The cost of the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban just went up

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban were never cheap vehicles exactly, but they’ve recently become even more expensive. The cost for both SUVs went up a total of $1,600, according to GM Authority. This includes $1500 for the MSRP and an additional $100 increase to the destination charge.

This makes the price of the 2022 Chevy Tahoe LS $53,795 and that of the 2022 Chevy Suburban $56,495. That’s more than it used to be – when the Suburban was first announced, it cost $51,900. The Tahoe was $49,200. That pricing goes all the way up the trim level ladder, with the most expensive 2022 Chevy Tahoe – the High Country 4WD with a 6.2-liter V8 – cost becoming $77,395. Similarly, the priciest 2022 Chevy Suburban High Country 4WD 6.2-liter V8 price is now $80,095.

This isn’t the first price increase for the Suburban and the Tahoe

This isn’t the first price increase for the Chevy Suburban or the Chevy Tahoe. The original price for both large SUVs increased in November of 2021 by $500. GM Authority also notes that “last March, the automaker increased pricing again by $350 to $800, depending on the trim level.” Will it be the last? In this uncertain automotive climate, it’s hard to say.

Part of the reason that Chevrolet can get away with continuing to increase the price of the Suburban and Tahoe is that people love full-size SUVs and demand is always high. That, coupled with a shortage in parts and disruptions in supply chains, has resulted in demand being even higher than usual.

What do you get for your money?

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe LS and Chevy Suburban LS comes with a 5.3-liter V8 engine that makes 355 hp and 383 hp. The Tahoe‘s engine is matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel-drive is available on all models. It’s standard on the Z71.

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe LS and 2022 Chevy Suburban LS also include LED headlights, an 8-inch infotainment screen that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and safety features such as forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and parking sensors.

The 2022 Chevy Suburban and Chevy Tahoe cost increase may mean that some people choose not to purchase these full-size SUVs, but it’s more likely that demand will continue to be high. After all, one thing that both of these SUVs offer that’s hard to find in other options is incredible passenger and cargo capacity. For families that need that capability, these price increases likely won’t deter them much.
