Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal is a legend in his sport. Nadal has a long history with South Korean automaker Kia. He became a brand ambassador for the company back in 2004. Nearly two decades later, the tennis star is promoting the automaker’s latest and greatest electric SUV, the Kia EV6.

Does Rafael Nadal own a Kia EV6?

Athletes are great brand ambassadors because they are often beloved by the general public. LeBron James, Derek Jeter, Serena Williams, and other sports icons have had several commercial and brand deals because companies understand that athletes have influence. Consumers look up to athletes because they represent excellence, so when a popular athlete cosigns a product, it’s a big deal.

Rafael Nadal, AKA Rafa, is getting behind the Kia EV6 electric SUV. According to InsideEVs, the millionaire tennis pro owns a Kia EV6 GT-Line. The star got the new electric SUV free of charge thanks to his sponsorship deal. There’s no way of telling how often Rafa drivers the Kia EV6, but he definitely owns one. The real question is, is the electric SUV worthy of the tennis legend?

The 2022 Kia EV6 | Kia

The Kia EV6 GT-Line is the final EV6 trim. It’s also the quickest model. The EV6 GT-Line is a sporty electric SUV that proves that electric SUVs can be cool. In earlier years, millions of consumers doubted the practicality of electric vehicles. Today, EVs have become much more ubiquitous thanks to popular models from brands like Tesla.

The EV6 GT-Line is a win for the entire EV space because it helps combat several existing EV stigmas. There’s nothing boring about the electric SUV’s aggressive styling. Car and Driver claims that the Kia EV6 GT can make 576 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque.

It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in about 3.5 seconds. The electric SUV is quick enough to be a worthy vehicle for an athlete of Nadal’s caliber. The GT-Line starts at $51,700. Luckily for consumers, the EV6 comes in two more affordable trim levels.

Cars.com praises its charging speed, ride quality, and spacious back seat. Drivers also enjoy the EV’s standard features and range. Kia’s electric SUV and its cousin the Hyundai Ioniq 5 have become two of the most popular electric vehicles of 2022.

If you’re looking for a new electric SUV that’s stylish and practical, the Kia EV6 is a great choice. It competes with popular models like the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Do other electric SUVs need cosigns from famous athletes like Rafael Nadal to get a boost in popularity?
