taylor confirmed for dakar
Molly Taylor is confirmed for Dakar 2023. After becoming the first Australian woman to compete in the Dakar Rally earlier this year, inaugural Extreme E champion Molly Taylor has announced that she will be returning to the desert for the 2023 edition.

Taylor made her debut at the Saudi-Arabian desert in January, finishing in 14th position in the SSV class alongside co-driver Dale Moscatt and she will once again race under the South Racing banner.

Despite facing plenty of adversity, it was a memorable debut for Taylor, who finished the two-week event with a number of top 10 finishes – her highest being a fifth place.
It will be a busy lead up of preparation for the 34-year-old, who has also been confirmed for the Rally Du Maroc, which takes place in October.

“I’m so excited to be heading back into the desert and taking on Dakar again as well as Rally Du Maroc as part of my ongoing partnership with the Can-am Factory South Racing team,” Taylor said.

“My first experience in Dakar was one I’ll never forget but this year is all about achieving the results I know I can.”

After spending time with the team in the Vegas to Reno 500-mile desert race, Taylor has full support of the Can-am Factory South Racing team as she looks to improve on last year’s result.

CEO of South Racing, Scott Abraham was pleased to welcome Taylor back to the team.

“We’re excited to confirm that Molly will be with us again in Morocco and Dakar,” Abraham said.

“She’s an integral part of the team and with one Dakar under her belt and the team’s ongoing support, I can’t wait to see what she can do in the desert come 1 January.”

The 2023 edition of the Dakar Desert Rally will begin on 1 January 2023.
