Take part in McLaren Singapore’s F1 Sim Racing Challenge
Singapore – Fancy a shot at driving a Formula One race car around the Marina Bay Street Circuit? Now you can… Sort of.
Until the 20th of September 2022, you could try your hand at the helm of McLaren’s Formula One car around Singapore’s street circuit. All virtually of course.
What you’re really getting behind the wheel of is SimFaiI’s CONSPIT racing simulator, a custom-made simulator rig that replicates some of the forces one would experience in a Formula One car.
The SimFai rig consists of a Moza Racing FSR Formula Wheel paired with a Moza Racing R16 Direct Drive Motor Base. For your feet, the rig has Conspit CPP-F2 Hydraulic Formula Pedals. For your bum, a custom Conspit Formula Posture rig painted in McLaren’s own shade of tarocco orange. Also, the rig comes equipped with a pair of Klipsch “The Five” speakers for that full-bodied aural F1 experience.
It’s a serious rig for a serious racing sim experience. That R16 motor base we mentioned earlier actually generates 16Nm of torque, which is the same amount of torque you’d find in a small motorcycle. As such, contestants have to be above 12 years old and at least 160cm tall in order to participate.
While you won’t be taking a beautifully crafted Royal Selangor trophy for clinching a podium position, there are still prizes to be won. The weekly prizes for the top 3 finishers are as follows: A pair of McLaren edition Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC earbuds for first place, a pair of Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport (also McLaren edition) for second and the final podium finisher will receive a pair of standard Klipsch T5 II True Wireless earbuds.
