Royal Enfield launched their flagship motorcycles Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 in the market a couple of years ago. Customers loved the motorcycles right from the word go. Royal Enfield even exports these motorcycles to international market and is doing good in terms of number there as well. The Interceptor and continental GT 650 are two of the most affordable twin cylinder motorcycles one can buy in the country. Here we have a video from some international reviewers comparing Interceptor 650 with other twin cylinder motorcycles like a Triumph Street Twin and Moto Guzzi V7 III. What do they think about the Interceptor? Let’s take a look at the video first.

The video has been uploaded by Bennetts Bike on their Youtube channel. In the video, the presenters compare all three motorcycle on the basis of different parameters like price, engine capacity, power and torque figures, weight, transmission, tank size, rider aids, seat height and so on. The Interceptor 650 is powered by a 648-cc, parallel twin engine generating 47 Bhp and 52 Nm of torque mated to a six speed transmission.

The Street Twin here has the biggest and most powerful engine in the lot. A 900-cc, twin cylinder motorcycle generating 64 Bhp and 79 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Moto Guzzi V7 III sits in between and has a 744-cc, air cooled, transverse V twin engine generating 51 Bhp and 60 Nm of torque.

royal enfield interceptor better buy than triumph street twin & moto guzzi v7 iii

In comparison it was found that the Interceptor 650 was the cheapest among the three and was also the lightest. The presenters then go on comparing the ride of motorcycles and the starting with the Triumph, it is an absolutely brilliant motorcycle and is meant to be pushed to its limits. Street Twin has an aggressive engine which others in this case were missing. The Moto Guzzi on the other hand felt a bit more relaxed to ride. Reviewers felt that Interceptor had a riding position and engine, that was a mix of both the Street Twin and V7. It sits right in between these motorcycles providing a perfect balance.

Overall, the reviewers were impressed with many other factors of the Interceptor, such the price, rider aids, warranty and road side assistance and other stuff that Royal Enfield was providing to its customers. One of the presenter who rode Interceptor for most of the time also said that he has a Kawasaki W800 and he still prefers Interceptor over it. At the end, the presenters even say that they felt like the Street Twin was the best motorcycle in the lot but felt that the Interceptor was a better buy because it offered better value.
