Royal Enfield is working on a new motorcycle which will be based on the Himalayan. It will be called Scram 411 and it is expected to launch in February 2022. The Scram will be the first motorcycle that Royal Enfield will launch next year.

The test mules of the Scram are doing on-road testing currently. So, it has been spotted quite a few times. This time it was spotted by Dr. Firoz Khan. We can see that Scram looks production-ready. It is finished in a production-spec paint scheme of red and black. This is not the first time that this paint scheme has been spotted.

In the video, we can that the Scram will derive most of the parts from the Himalayan. The front-wheel no longer measures 21-inches. It is expected to measure 18-inch or 19-inch in size. This will help the motorcycle to no longer look like an adventure tourer. The rear tyre is expected to be the same size i.e. 17-inches. It is still running on spoked rims which means that there will be no tubeless tyres.

On the previous test mules, there were no fork gaiters but it seems as the production-spec Scram 411 will come with fork gaiters or Royal Enfield might offer them as genuine accessories. Another change that we can spot is that the windshield is now gone and has been replaced with a cowl. There is no beak-like front mudguard that we usually see on the adventure tourers. Instead, it now gets a traditional mudguard.

Then we come to the fuel tank which also looks like is new. There is no frame mounted on the fuel tank which were used to mount jerry cans. The frame has been replaced with tank shrouds. Then we come to the rear here it seems like the tail lamp will be carried forward from the Himalayan but the turn indicators will be mounted on the rear mudguard. It will no longer have Himalayan decals. It also does not come with the rear luggage rack that Royal Enfield introduced in the 2021 Himalayan.

Because of all the design changes, the Scram does look cleaner than the Himalayan. The first test mules were also spotted with panniers. So, expect Scram to be compatible with some of the accessories that are currently offered by Royal Enfield.

Braking and suspension hardware will be carried forward from the current Himalayan. So, the front disc brake will measure 300 mm while the rear disc will measure 240 mm. There will be a dual-channel Anti-lock braking system as standard. Royal Enfield might offer switchable ABS but it is not confirmed yet. Suspension duties will be done by 41 mm front telescopic forks and a rear mono-shock at the rear.

The engine will also be the same as the current Himalayan. It will be a 411 cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled unit that produces 24.3 bhp of max power and a peak torque output of 32 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Even the exhaust design is the same as the Himalayan. So, it is an upswept exhaust. We hope that Royal Enfield is able to shed down some weight off from the Scram 411 so it feels a bit livelier than the Himalayan.
