Ola S1 Electric launches the Series S electric scooter range at Rs 99,999, ex-showroom (starting price). The scooter is available in two variants and 10 colour schemes. Scooter can be purchased from September 8, 2021, with deliveries said to begin in October 2021 and will be started in 1000 cities.

Ola Electric Scooter Design
Ola has given the electric scooter a simple-looking front apron with the OLA badge in the middle. The only other distinctive feature on the front of the scooter is the headlamps cluster that features twin-pod LED setup surrounded by LED DRLs. Ola S1 is offered in 5 colour options while the S1 Pro is offered in 10 colours from the company.

The electric scooter is powered by an 8.5 KW electric motor paired with a 3.92 kWh Li-ion battery pack, which is not removable. This combination provides a maximum claimed riding range of 181 kilometres.

Both scooters are offered 750W on-board charger. The onboard charger takes 7 hours for a complete charge. The company also claims that a 0 to 100 per cent charge for the electric scooter would take around 60 minutes. However, 18 minutes of charging will juice the battery to 50 per cent and provides a range of around 75km.
Ola has also announced the Hypercharger Network. In the first year, the company aims to set up over 100,000 charging points across 400 cities. The project will start with 5,000 charge points across 100 cities.
Ola Electric Scooter Features & Technology
Regarding the technology, the upcoming electric scooter is expected to feature connected smart mobility. The integration could use a large 7-inch TFT touchscreen and shatterproof screen for the instrument console, which features eSIM internet connectivity.

This will enable the scooter to be paired with a smartphone application offered by the company. With the mobile application, users can monitor the scooter’s behaviour, find the nearest charging stations and a lot more.
The scooter also features keyless entry as standard. The S1 also features four various moods for the sound and the instrument cluster graphics of the electric scooter: Bolt, Care, Vintage, Wonder, & Custom.
Additionally, the scooter features onboard navigation, mobile app connectivity and AI voice assistance with inbuilt mics and speaker on the scooter. Users can end and receive calls via onboard mic and speakers.

Ola Electric Scooter Pre Bookings, Sales & Manufacturing
Customers who have pre-reserved the scooter can be bought from 8 September. Deliveries of the scooter will start in October 1000 cities. Ola Electric might look to sell the electric scooter without having a physical dealership model. Instead, customers would get home delivery of electric scooters right from the factory. The company will be producing 10 million electric scooters per year at their Gigafactory, which is India’s biggest building.
