Ola electric scooters are one of the most awaited electric scooters in India and the company received an overwhelming response for its Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooter by receiving more than 1 lakh pre-bookings in just 24 hours.

Now, the Indian start-up company has started to install 4000+ ‘Hypercharger’ charging networks across major Indian cities. According to Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO and Co-founder, Ola Electric, these Hyperchargers are set up at BPCL pumps and residential complexes.

Apart from that, he also revealed that these Hyperchargers will be made operational within the next 6 to 8 weeks and will be free to use till June.

“Hypercharger roll out has begun across cities. At key BPCL pumps as well as residential complexes. 4000+ points up through next year. We’re installing across India and will make them operational in 6-8 weeks. Will be free for use till end June 22 for all customers.” He tweeted.

The first Hypercharger was launched by Ola Electric in October and the company recently started delivering its Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters to its customers.

According to Ola Electric, the Hypercharger is capable of charging the Ola electric scooter batteries from 0 to 50 per cent in just 18 minutes. This will add 75 kms of range to the Ola electric scooters according to the Indian start-up company.

Apart from that, with the dedicated Ola Electric app, the user will be able to monitor the charging status in real-time.

Speaking about Ola electric scooter, the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro look quite futuristic with their clean and minimalist looks. Apart from that, both variants look quite similar to each other.

However, under the skin, both scooters carry slight differences. Where the Ola S1 is powered by a 2.98kWh battery pack, the Ola S1 Pro uses a larger 3.97kWh battery pack for added range.

Moreover, the performance numbers between the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro are slightly different despite having a similar motor setup.

The Ola S1 Pro is slightly faster than the Ola S1 with an official 0-40 kmph time of 3 seconds and a top speed of 115 kmph. The same feat in Ola S1 takes 3.6 seconds to 40 kmph and the top speed is 25 kmph lower.

According to official figures from Ola Electric, the Ola S1 can cover 121 kms on a single charge, whereas the Ola S1 pro can manage 181 kms.

Features-wise, Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro come with a wide variety of features such as keyless app-based access, digital instrument cluster, reversing mode, cloud connectivity, alloy wheels, disc brakes, telescopic front suspension, LED headlights and many more.

The Ola electric scooter also comes with a large 50-litre under-seat storage, which is almost twice as large as most scooters available in India.
