After a new MG, but not sure how long you’ll have to wait?
Issues such as semiconductor chip shortages, shipping problems and sickness and isolation have affected the ability of manufacturers like MG to keep their production lines going over the last two years.
As such, all of the brand’s models are currently experiencing some delays.
However, some models are in greater supply than others, with flexibility around powertrains, specification and vehicle colour likely to see a vehicle in your driveway sooner.
Overall, according to Price My Car, the average wait time in July for a MG was 59 days – compared to 56 days in January 2022.
The quickest arrival is the MG 3 with an average wait of 39 days.
Meanwhile, the worst-affected in MG’s lineup is the ZST, with a wait time of 77 days.
However, neither Price My Car, nor MG itself, could specify what the average delay on a HS, ZS or ZS EV would be.

Model | Wait time |
---|---|
MG 3 | 39 days |

“Global challenges make it difficult to predict exactly how long it will take for all bottlenecks to be cleared or when new ones will appear,” a spokesperson for MG told us.
“Please be assured we are doing our utmost to ensure as little as a delay as possible.
“MG remains on-track to receive improved shipments of stock in the coming months across our range of vehicles in Australia and New Zealand.”
In June this year, MG said orders for new cars were set to be delayed, confirming supply issues had forced it to pushback delivery dates.
However in July, 7000 cars landed locally to improve the bottleneck – almost double its normal monthly shipment.
