marquez has “intention” to test motogp honda at misano after san marino gp

Marc Marquez has the “intention” to test his Honda MotoGP machine in the post San Marino Grand Prix next Monday following a pair of succsusseful runs on a road-going bike.

The Spaniard returned to track action on Wednesday and Friday ahead of this weekend’s San Marino GP on a Honda CBR600RR at the Motorland Aragon circuit as he looked to evaluate the condition of his still-healing right arm following his recent corrective surgery, Marquez looking to return to MotoGP competition sooner rather than later.

His Honda team released a brief statement on Friday lunchtime annoucing that Marquez would travel to Misano for Tuesday’s post-race test having been left “satisfied” with the state of his arm following his CBR600RR runs, the six-time premier class champion set to arrive in Italy on Friday evening in order to work with the team throughout the weekend like he did at the Red Bull Ring two weeks ago.

“Satisfied with the condition of his right arm, Marc Marquez will travel to Misano with the intention of riding the Honda RC213V during the post-race test,” began Honda’s statement.

“After two positive tests aboard a Honda CBR600RR at the MotorLand Aragon circuit on August 31 and September 02, Marc Marquez has gained valuable knowledge on the condition of his arm.

“With the information gained and satisfied with the progress of his right humerus, Marquez will now travel to the San Marino GP with the intention of testing his physical condition further on his Honda RC213V during the post-race MotoGP test.

“The eight-time World Champion will arrive in Misano on Friday evening to once again observe and work alongside the Repsol Honda Team and HRC before aiming to take to the circuit on Tuesday.”

Marquez could feasibly return to racing action for the Aragon GP in two weeks time should he be left encouraged by his testing run on the RC213-V.
