Hyundai has announced that it has sold over 3 lakh units of its popular subcompact SUV, Venue in India so far. The Hyundai Venue was the first fully connected SUV to be launched in India and has taken the top spot with regards to monthly sales in the SUV segment on several occasions. In fact, nearly 18 per cent of Venues sold so far have been equipped with Hyundai’s Advanced Bluelink connected technology. The Venue was launched on May 21, 2019, which means it has already completed 3 years in the Indian market. Right now, the company is gearing up to bring in a mid-life facelift, which is expected to be launched in June 2022.

Nearly 18 per cent of Venues sold so far have been equipped with Hyundai’s Advanced Bluelink connected technology

The Hyundai Venue had crossed the 1 lakh unit sales mark within a year of its launch, in May 2020, and the company says that in the year 2021 along it sold 1.08 lakh units of the car. Interestingly, over 70 per cent of the Venue sales come from the petrol models, which include the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated motor and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol. Hyundai also sold the most number of SUVs in India in 2021, at 2.5 lakh units, out of which 42 per cent of sales came from the Venue. The carmaker says that right now, the Hyundai Venue holds a market share of 16.9 per cent in its segment.

In addition to the petrol engine options, the Venue is also offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The Venue also comes with multiple transmission choices a 5-speed manual (1.2 petrol), 6-speed manual (1.0 T-GDi, 1.5 diesel), 6-speed iMT (1.0 T-GDi) and 7-speed DCT automatic (1.0 T-GDi). The SUV is offered in six variants – E, S, S+, SX, SX+ and SX(O), and it’s currently priced between ₹ 7.11 lakh to ₹ 11.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
