VW South Africa is hosting a fan event for the new Taigo SUV Coupe in Johannesburg in June.
The Taigo will be on show at the Prison Break Market in Midrand on the weekend of 4 and 5 June for fans and customers to explore the new VW and stand a chance to win one of several “Taigo Adventures”.
“Fans can also get on-the-go styling with a free barber experience, glam make-up makeovers, and, for the boldest at heart, enjoy a free real tattoo,” said VW South Africa.
Guests will be able to explore the vehicle in-person and through a Virtual Reality experience, buy Taigo-themed lifestyle accessories, and create content using the free Dreambox social studio experience.
The new Taigo, which launches next week, joins the T-Cross and T-Roc as VW’s trio of compact SUVs in the A0 SUV segment.
Registration for the Taigo Junction event is free, and individuals are urged to do so online via this link.

Taigo specifications
At launch, the new VW Taigo SUV Coupe will be available in South Africa in Life, Style, and R-Line specifications.
Each model is driven by a 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine developing 85kW and 200Nm, paired to a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox that turns the front wheels.
The setup achieves a combined fuel consumption of 5.4l/100km and allows the VW to sprint to 100km/h in 11.3 seconds.
Standard fitment across for each new VW then includes full-LED headlights, a leather multifunction steering wheel, fabric seats, heated and folding wing mirrors, a digital driver’s display, and a 6.5-inch infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and We Connect Go online services.
Across the range, buyers can further install an array of optional features, such as keyless entry and start, a sliding panoramic sunroof, an upgraded infotainment system, larger wheels, the Black Styling Package, and advanced driver assistance systems.
The Taigo is already available to pre-order on the VW South Africa website, and comes with a 3-year/120,000km warranty and a 3-year/45,000km service plan.
