Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has launched the Hypermotard 950 RVE and Hypermotard SP in India. The Hypermotard 950 RVE is priced at Rs 12.99 lakhs while the Ducati Hypermotard SP commands an asking price of Rs 16.49 lakhs.

The all-new Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE’s USP is its design. Ducati claims that the ‘Graffiti’ livery of the Hypermotard 950 RVE is inspired by street art. The company also claims that the 950 RVE builds on the success achieved in 2019, especially on social media, by the Hypermotard 950 Concept presented at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The RVE also features Cast aluminium wheels with three Y-spokes which are shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres. The Hypermotard 950 RVE also gets adjustable 45mm Marzocchi forks up front with 170mm of travel and an adjustable Sachs mono-shock at the rear with 150mm of wheel travel. The Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE has a seat height of 870mm and also allows for a lean angle of up to 44 degrees. The bike weighs in at 200 kilogrammes, which is 4 kilogrammes lighter than the previous model.

The Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP takes all of the RVE’s features and dials them up to 11. The 950 SP features fully adjustable 48 mm Öhlins forks, with 185 mm of wheel travel up front. At the back the SP sports a fully adjustable Ohlins mono-shock with 175mm of wheel travel.

The SP also features a flat seat that sits 890mm above the ground and a carbon fibre front mudguard and belt covers. The Hypermotard 950 SP features forged Marchesini wheels with three Y-spokes which are clad with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres.

The bike allows for a lean angle of up to 47 degrees and has a kerb weight of 198 kilogrammes, down 3 kilos compared to the previous SP model. Like the RVE, the Hypermotard 950 SP features a special livery of its own.

Like the rest of the Hypermotard lineup, both the RVE and SP feature the same steel Trellis frame with tapered tubing.

Also shared is the 937cc Ducati Testastretta 11 degree twin-cylinder engine which cranks out 111bhp at 9,000rpm and 96Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. the engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slip-assist clutch and a bi-directional quick-shifter. The engine requires oil changes are required every 15,000 kilometres while a Desmo Service is needed after every 30,000 kilometres.

Both of the new additions to the Ducati Hypermotard 950 lineup in India pack a host of features that would set a Ducati fan’s heart on fire. However, more serious riders will prefer the Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP.
