KTM recently launched their first adventure motorcycle 390 Adventure in the Indian market. It is an adventure motorcycle based on KTM’s 390 Duke motorcycle. In terms of design and the level of equipment offered, KTM 390 Adventure is way for advanced than the Duke 390. The power generated by both the motorcycles are the same as they use the same engine. Both motorcycle belong to two different segment -one is naked street motorcycle whereas the other is an adventure tourer. Here we have a video that shows a drag race between the KTM 390 Duke and 390 Adventure to find out which one is the quickest among two.
The video has been uploaded by Ayush Verma on his youtube channel. The video starts by showing both the motorcycles and comparing both in terms of styling and features. Then they take both motorcycles on a straight stretch of road on a highway. The race is conducted in two rounds. First round starts and the 390 Adventure moves off the start point and instantly takes the lead, the 390 adventure maintains the lead for a few seconds. After some time, the 390 starts gaining speed and overtakes 390 Adventure.
The Duke 390 takes the lead and maintains it till the end and wins the race. The rider was really surprised by the way Duke 390 had taken the lead in the first round. The rider on the Duke said that it was initially left behind because it did not launch properly. Then riders swap the motorcycles and conduct the second round of the race. This time the Duke took the lead from the start as it was launched properly. The 390 Adventure was right behind the Duke but could not overtake it at any point of the race. Both the rounds were won by Duke because of the weight advantage.

The Duke 390 is almost 13 kilograms lighter than the 390 Adventure which makes a huge difference. The Duke 390 and the 390 Adventure are both powered by the 373-cc , single cylinder, liquid cooled engine which is now BS6 compliant. The engine generates a maximum of 43.5 PS of power and 37 Nm of torque. The 390 Adventure is feature loaded motorcycle with some segment first features like bi-directional quickshifter. The 390 Adventure is one the best equipped adventure motorcycle currently available in the market and is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The bike competes with the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which is a lot cheaper, and the BMW G 310 GS, which is significantly pricier.
