The battle between SUVs continues as the Honda CR-V gains a significant refresh to try ad tackle rivals like the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The Tucson outranks the CR-V on various lists, but the 2023 Honda CR-V could take the crown back.

2023 Honda CR-V vs. 2023 Hyundai Tucson

android, can the 2023 honda cr-v tackle the hyundai tucson?

2023 Honda CR-V | Honda

According to U.S.News, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is a better choice than the 2022 Honda CR-V. However, both SUVs have excellent features to brag about. The Tucson ranks highly for having a smooth ride, comfortable interior, intuitive tech, and tons of standard features.

The Honda CR-V is praised for having an excellent fuel economy, upscale cabin, and tons of passenger and cargo space. But it was dinged for not having a lot of standard features and because the touchscreen controls can be frustrating.

However, the 2023 Honda CR-V might change the way critics feel thanks to a brand new exterior and interior design with new tech and better features.

What’s new for the Honda CR-V?

The 2023 Honda CR-V still uses the same old 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. But it has been returned to be more responsive and efficient.

We can’t wait to put it to the test. Also, the Honda CR-V Hybrid features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with two electric motors to provide 204 hp.

The 2023 Hyundai Tucson has a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. The Hyundai Tucson Hybrid pairs a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for 226 hp.

While the Tucson Hybrid has more power, the CR’s continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive system were revised to provide a sportier experience and smoother ride quality.

Retuned suspension components, more robust structural elements, and wider tracks should also make a difference. Plus, each CR-V model now comes with hill descent control. All-wheel drive is available with both SUVs.

The 2022 CR-V can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.2 seconds, which is adequate. The 2023 model could be fast. The gas-powered Hyundai Tucson can reach 60 mph in about 10.2 seconds, making it slow compared to rivals.

Does the CR-V or Tucson have better features?

2023 Hyundai Tucson | Hyundai

The 2023 Honda CR-V price is expected to start at around $28,000. The 2022 CR-V has an MSRP of $26,800. The 2023 Hyundai Tucson could begin at about $25,000, while the 2022 model starts at $24,950.

With the 2023 CR-V, you get up to 39.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats with up to 76.5 cubes total. The Tucson provides 37.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat with up to 80.3 cubes total.

The CR-V comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, but you can upgrade to a 9.0-inch unit. The Tucson has an 8.8-inch unit, but you can opt for the 10.3-inch screen. The CR-V features Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but the Tuscon doesn’t.

It’s possible that the new Honda CR-V could take the top spot for the Hyundai Tucson. It should have a more comfortable ride, sportier performance, advanced tech, more capabilities, and more standard features.
