A group of like-minded individuals drove their BYD Dolphin,

the country’s most affordable EV

from the bustling streets of Makati City to the Masungi Georeserve in Baras, Rizal to spread their “Earth Conscious” mentality.

The first-ever BYD Dolphin Fun Run saw eight of BYD’s all-electric hatchback travel some 100 kilometers all while emitting no tailpipe emissions.

Powered by a single AC synchronous motor, the Dolphin makes 95 horsepower and 180 Nm of torque. With a 44.9-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, it has a maximum cruising range of 405 kilometers.

“I’m so grateful for your trust and support in choosing BYD to be your brand of choice towards Electric Mobility. Some say using fossil fuels is borrowing resources from our future generations. One way to reduce this reliance is through going electric,” said Mark Andrew Tieng, Managing Director of Solar Transport, BYD’s official distributor in the Philippines.

At the event, Dolphin owners managed to share their stories on EV ownership. One club member, Dr. Joel Macatula said he’s driven his BYD for 40,000 kilometers already over just one year. He’s very happy and satisfied with what he considers his “daily workhorse.” Another member, Mr. Co, shared that the fun run boosted his confidence in his new BYD Dolphin as it drove up the steep, mountainous roads going to and inside the Masungi Georeserve.

“The BYD Blade Battery enables another degree of efficiency as it is light, reliable, safe and efficient. This brings another level of excellence in product design and detailed modern engineering that makes the Dolphin an attractive and joyful vehicle for your daily commute. We are committed to the Philippines and to Filipinos,” shared Liu Xue Liang, General Manager, BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd, Asia Pacific.

Aside from the Dolphin, BYD Philippines also offers other EVs such as the 250-kilometer T3 van, the Tang, a 500-kilometer luxury SUV, and the Han, their flagship sedan also with 500 kilometers of range. It is also opening reservations for its new-generation Song Plus—a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that offers a 60-kilometer all-electric range.

BYD Philippines is located at 1702 Dian Street corner Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City.
