Other optional features that have been made standard in the BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS” Edition include gold anodized rims and a main stand. Black fixed fork tubes and a galvanised radiator cowl are also features of this anniversary edition. Towards the rear, this new variant has luggage racks and a seat bench in black/yellow with the GS logo.
The BMW F 850 GS “40 Years GS” Edition keeps the 853 cc liquid-cooled 4-valve, 2-cylinder engine with fuel injection. Paired with a six-speed gearbox, the bike has maximum output of 70 kW / 95 hp @ 8,250 rpm and a peak torque of 92 Nm @ 6,250 rpm.
The two counterbalance shafts in the new variant also contributes to its smoothness, spontaneous response, impressive pulling power and low fuel consumption.
It is also equipped with the latest generation of Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and the Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) for riding performance over all types of terrain. Riding Modes Pro equips the bike with Dynamic Engine Brake Control and Shift Assistant Pro, as well as four riding modes that can be accessed via the right handlebar controls. Enhancing safety when braking in banking position, the ABS Pro provides a fortified degree of performance and safety for complete riding pleasure. Touring assistance comes in the form of cruise control and navigation preparation for GPS devices.
Other features for the rider include the 6.5″ TFT instrument panel that displays an extended range of information even in difficult lighting conditions; the Connectivity function; Keyless Ride feature; and tyre pressure monitoring system (RDC).
