Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has launched the upgraded Dominar 400 in India. Prices for the new Bajaj Dominar 400 start at Rs 2.17 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).

To make the new Dominar 400 a more attractive proposition for riders, Bajaj has given its sports tourer a host of factory-fitted accessories as standard. These include a tall visor, which Bajaj claims will offer better wind blast protection, therefore, improving rider comfort.

Other standard fitments include handguards with flexi-winglets that maximise wind protection. Also fitted are rugged and discreet leg guards that offer better protection in case of a crash. Another protective accessory available as standard fitment is the engine bash plate, with an integrated metal skid plate, which offers good impact protection.

For those looking to navigate their way to a new destination with their devices, the new Dominar 400 gets a navigation stay. This stay made from cast aluminium is sturdy and does not block the rider’s view of the road. Also provided is a USB charging port to keep your devices topped up.

Other accessories fitted as standard include a carrier for your luggage and a backstop to ensure the pillion rider comfort. Bajaj will also for a nominal price sell you a saddle stay. This ensures your saddlebags stay securely in place when you decide to hit the road.

The new and upgraded Bajaj Dominar 400 retains its liquid-cooled 373.3cc dual overhead camshaft, 4-valve engine. The fuel-injected powerplant churns out 39.4bhp at 8,800rpm and 35Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

To take care of the bumps and ruts of the roads, Bajaj has fitted the Dominar 400 with 43mm upside-down forks with 135mm of travel up front and an adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Stopping duties are carried out by disc brakes on both wheels duly assisted by dual-channel ABS. The 17-inch alloy wheels are clad with a 110/70-17 tyre up front and a 150/60-17 unit at the rear.
