Bangalore-based electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy is offering its premium Ather Connect Pro subscription pack for free to all new and current 450, 450X and 450 Plus owners for the next 6 months.
Ather’s Connect Pro subscription service currently costs Rs 700 for every three months of use. The service enables ride statistics along with remote location tracking, remote charge monitoring, and push location function from the app. This is alongside the on-board navigation and over-the-air dashboard updates provided by the Aether Connect Lite subscription package which sells for Rs 400 for 3 months.
Ather will activate the free Connect Pro subscription for customers on the 15th of November, 2021 and the freebie subscription program will run all the way till the 15th of May, 2022. Ather will refund active Connect Lite/ Pro subscribers on a pro-rata basis for the duration of the free offering.
In a Diwali message on the Ather Forums, the company stated, ” At Ather, we believe that a connected commute is the future. In fact it’s now smart to consider electric vehicles over ICE alternatives, thanks to high performance products, Govt. incentives and growing consumer acceptance to shift to newer and better technologies. On the other hand, the full power of connectivity and smart features is yet to be realized. Though today it starts with offerings like onboard navigation, OTA updates, mobile app connectivity, remote diagnostics and so on, the potential is immense. Unlike the tangible experience of riding an electric transmission, it really takes time and proof to see the value add that connectivity brings to your ride experience. As we expand across the country and welcome more owners to the community, we definitely want everyone to experience what it feels like to ride and own a connected & intelligent scooter. And get a hang of the possibilities that lie in the near future. We don’t want the cost of a subscription pack to come in the way of the connected experience. With this intent we are opening a 6 month, free-of-cost window on the Ather Connect services.”
Ather Energy recently announced Grid 2.0, its upgraded quick charger network for the nation. The new Ather Grid 2.0 charger network will expand to a total of 700 chargers across the country by the end of the current financial year. Ather Grid promises future proofing for faster charging tech along with the ability for over the air (OTA) updates and quicker bug fixes.
The new Ather Grid 2.0 will be online at all times to provide Aether customers with real time data with regards to available charging stations. However, the company had also announced that free charging would no longer be available at Aether Grid chargers come the start of 2022.
