alpine presents f1 wing upgrades at zandvoort

Few upgrades have been brought to the Dutch Grand Prix weekend from Zandvoort, however Alpine has arrived with minor new parts.

The beam wing of the car has been adjusted in a way that reduces drag and increases downforce around the narrow, twisting Zandvoort Circuit.

In addition, the front wing flaps have been modified, which the team says will be more efficient as it hunts for an injection of downforce.

Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin and Haas have listed no upgrades for the grand prix weekend.

The tip of AlphaTauri’s rear wing has been updated, with a tighter transition to the endplate in front view and a larger cut out at the back in side view, all aimed at improving the car’s downforce.

Williams has reprofiled two of its front wing elements, while the shape of the rear brake ducts at Alfa Romeo have been altered.

A number of teams are also testing larger wing mirrors on Friday as the sport looks to improve visibility for the drivers.

More modifications are likely for next weekend’s race in Monza, where the track layout rewards improved straight-line speed.

It differs greatly from the layout in Zandvoort, where drivers are presented with the challenge of tackling medium and high-speed corners.
