There are no changes to the power plants, though.
Alfa's Giulia and Stelvio duo freshens up
The Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio are an answer to some of the long-ruling stalwarts currently dominating the market segment. Now, the Turin-based carmaker is giving the duo a subtle overhaul to make sure they stay relevant in their respective folds.
The biggest change here is that the Stelvio gets a new Veloce variant that replaces the Super; this aligns the range with the Giulia. The new Veloce trim adds a body-colour exterior kit, black anodised brake callipers, dark exhaust tips plus monotone wheel centres.
Inside, the Stelvio Veloce features a black headliner, 6-way electronically-adjustable sports seats with 4-way lumbar adjustment and a memory function for the driver. The infotainment system now boasts eight speakers as well as a hands-free tailgate. The range-topping Stelvio Q further adds carbon shell Alcantara sports seats from Sparco.
On the other hand, the Giulia Veloce comes standard with a limited-slip differential for enhanced handling prowess. It gets the same updated level of specifications as the Stelvio Veloce. As for the Giulia QV, it features Alcantara carbon shell sports seats by Sparco as standard, an exposed carbon fibre roof plus a Harman Kardon sound system.
Like before, the Giulia is available in two models; Veloce and Q. The former continues to wield a 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 206 kW and 400 of Sir Isaac Newton's finest. Power is delivered to the rear axle via an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a carbon fibre prop shaft.
The M3-challenging Quadrifoglio packs a bigger 2.9-litre Bi-Turbo petrol engine inspired by the folks at Ferrari, with 375 kW and 600 Nm sent entirely to the rear axle. It completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds before hitting the limiter at 307 km/h.
The Stelvio Veloce and Q models get the same powerplants. However, the latter comes with the brand's Q4 all-wheel-drive system.
- Stelvio Veloce: R1,188,900
- Stelvio Q: R1,911,900
- Giulia Veloce: R1,061,900
- Giulia QV: R1,770,900
The new Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio come with a 5-year/100,000 km full warranty and maintenance plan as standard. Be seduced.
