IPOH: Discounts of up to 70% on traffic compounds will be given in conjunction with the upcoming 34th Ipoh City Day.
Ipoh mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said the discount would only be for one day, namely tomorrow.
“The compounds can be paid at all Ipoh City Council counters or through Park@Perak mobile app or the city council’s official website.
“The public can also check their unpaid compounds at our WeServe counters or on the website or Park@Perak app,” he said during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration with media at a hotel in Ipoh.
“We strongly encourage the public to settle their compounds via the application or online,” he added.
Apart from the discount offered, Rumaizi said people could also enjoy several other freebies by the city council.
“From May 27 until June 26, the public can enjoy free boat rides at Gunung Lang Recreational Park.
“No fee is required to swim at the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre on May 27,” he said, adding that there would also be a special Ipoh Car Free Night event on May 28.
“Also on May 28, we will hold a Family Picnic Night at the city council square in Greentown from 8pm to 11pm where buskers will be performing to entertain visitors.
“We will also hold a four-day sport tournament between local governments that includes football, darts and hockey,” Rumaizi said.
