The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is a really nice luxury midsize SUV that’s loaded with nice features in a stylish package. If you’re looking for a luxury midsize sport utility vehicle, the Infiniti QX60 has probably landed on your list of vehicles to consider. So is the 2022 Infiniti QX60 a good SUV? Largely it is, but it isn’t perfect. Here’s what’s great about the new QX60, and what could be a little better.

android, 3 reasons to buy the 2022 infiniti qx60 – and 2 to skip it

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is a good luxury SUV

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is a good luxury SUV that comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 295 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, according to Edmunds. It’s paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel-drive.

The Infiniti QX60 comes with a lot of features

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 base model PURE comes with a lot of great features, and they’re all standard. These include LED headlights, a panoramic moonroof, and a power liftgate. It also has leather seats in the front and second rows, as well as heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. In addition, the Infiniti QX comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It’s loaded with safety systems

If an abundance of safety systems is a reason you would buy an SUV, then you’ll be happy with the Infiniti QX60. These include blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning. The Infiniti QX60 also has lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear automatic braking.

If you buy one of the upper trim levels, you’ll get even more features. The LUXE trim level adds on some safety equipment like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning. It also has traffic sign recognition, driver attention warning, and blind-spot intervention.

The QX60 doesn’t have a safety award

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 doesn’t win an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) safety award. To win the coveted Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must have good crash test ratings in all major categories. It also has to have superior or advanced safety systems and acceptable or good headlights standard on all models.  The QX60 does have good test results in the crashworthiness categories, yet there are no headlight ratings and ultimately, the IIHS hasn’t given the QX60 any safety award.

It isn’t cheap

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is a luxury sport utility vehicle, so you probably aren’t expecting it to be inexpensive. Still, its price starts at $49,045 for the PURE trim level, which is the base model QX60. The 2022 Infiniti QX60 LUXE is the most popular trim level, and its price starts at $55,095. The SENSORY trim level price starts at $58,545 and it builds on the LUXE. Finally, the QX60 AUTOGRAPH trim level price is $62,545.

If you’re looking for a luxury midsize SUV, then you might love the 2022 Infiniti QX60. Then again, if safety is your priority, then you may want to skip the QX60 and look at some of its competitors, like the 2022 Acura MDX or the 2022 Genesis GV80.
