Hot on the heels of the limited-edition 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown comes the 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee, the second of seven “Last Call” special editions the brand is unveiling to celebrate the final model year of its Charger and Challenger muscle cars. The Charger Super Bee pays homage to the 1968 Coronet Super Bee — and the first Charger Super Bee in 1971 — and provides a drag-strip-friendly setup straight from the showroom floor.
The Charger Super Bee will be limited to 1,000 units, half Widebody and half not, just like the Challenger Shakedown (we’re sensing a theme). The Widebodies will be painted Plum Crazy, while the rest get a coat of B5 Blue. Both versions get Super Bee graphics on the hood and rear fenders (white over the purple and blue over the blue), along with Super Bee badging on the front fenders and grille.

Based on the Charger Scat Pack, the Super Bee cranks up the performance with a functional hood scoop flanked by heat extractors and 275-section-width drag radials on 20-inch wheels (normal body) or 315-section-width drag rubber on 18-inch wheels (Widebody). An adaptive suspension with a Drag Mode should help owners set impressive quarter-mile times. Stopping power is provided by red Brembo-brand brakes. For additional performance aesthetics, the hood is held in place by black hood pins, and the exhaust tips are black, too.
“The Dodge Super Bee is more than commemorative of a cool heritage name — it is also a Charger variant of the Challenger 1320 grassroots race package,” Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer, said in a statement. “The special-edition 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee once again offers a Dodge vehicle that is equally at home on the street or on the drag strip.”

Inside, the Super Bee comes equipped with both the Plus Group and Carbon/Suede Package. A Super Bee badge adorns the instrument panel, and there’s a stitched Super Bee logo on the seatbacks.
Ordering for the Charger Super Bee will open in the fall, and like all Challenger and Charger models, interested buyers can look up the allocation to various Dodge dealers on DodgeGarage.com. Two more Last Call variants are set to be announced Sept. 7, with the parade of announcements nearly ending Sept. 21 before the final variant is revealed at the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas, which is scheduled to take place Nov. 1-4. Stay tuned for more.
