2023 alpina b3 update confirmed for australia

Alpina’s tuned 3 Series models gain subtle design changes, power boost and latest iDrive system.

The Alpina B3 and Alpina D3 S have been updated in line with arrival of the facelifted BMW 3 Series, which was revealed by the German car maker last week.

The updated Alpina B3 will land in Australia late-22 at the earliest and is priced from $152,900 before on-road costs for either B3 Sedan or B3 Wagon. The diesel D3 remains of the table for Australia.

For the ’22 update, both cars gain a boost in power, aerodynamic improvements, a revised exterior design and new technical software.

The updated Alpina B3 is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine with an output of 359kW – an improvement of 24kW over the previous car.

Torque is also uprated by 30Nm to 730Nm. The reserves are channelled through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The B3 sedan covers 0-100km/h in 3.6sec and wagon-bodied Alpina B3 Touring completes the sprint in 3.7secs. Top speed stands at 305km/h.

Alpina’s D3 S, meanwhile, uses a 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology supported by a 48V starter-generator, which, Alpina says, improves throttle response and efficiency.

It has 4kW more than the previous version, at 265kW, and generates 730Nm of torque. The D3 S sedan takes 4.6sec to dispatch 0-62mph and the Alpina D3 S Touring 4.8sec. The D3 S can reach a top speed of 270km/h.
