The that’s on sale in Malaysia was previously imported (CBU) from Japan, but upon the arrival of the updated 2022 model, Bermaz Motor has switched to sourcing the B-segment SUV from Thailand.

We first noticed this change in the Mazda CX-3’s price list, which mentioned that the model is “Fully imported from Thailand”.
In addition to that, we have also reached out to Bermaz Motor and they confirmed that newer batch of cars are now imported from the land of smiles.

Apart from switching to Thailand as country of origin, Bermaz Motor has updated the Mazda CX-3 line-up in Malaysia, as the line-up now consists of three variants: 1.5L Core, 2.0L Core, and 2.0L High, with prices starting from RM 108k.

During the Mazda CX-3's last update back in March, it gained a new 8.0-inch with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities. There's also a new Qi wireless charging pad, exclusively to the top-spec 2.0L High variant.

The RV-generation offers a 1.5L NA as the entry-level variant
The new Mazda CX-3 1.5L is the second B-segment SUV after the RV-generation HR-V to offer a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre engine as the entry-level model.
