The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Range has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.95 lakh for the Bonneville Street Twin. Prices go all the way up to Rs 11.75 lakh for the Bonneville Speedmaster. The updated Triumph Bonneville range includes the Street Twin, Street Twin Gold Line, T100, T120, T120 Black, and Speedmaster.

The Triumph Bonneville debuted back in 1959, named after the famed Bonneville salt flats where land speed records are created. The Model was discontinued in 1983 for a couple of years and relaunched in 1985. After three more years, Triumph discontinued the Bonneville in 1988.

In 2001, after 13 years, Triumph relaunched the Bonneville brand and things have never been the same again. The Triumph Bonneville remains the bestselling Triumph motorcycle. Over the years, Triumph has expanded the Bonneville range with motorcycles to suit varied buyer interests.

As a result, the Triumph Bonneville range stretches out over multiple segments. In the first week of March 2021, Triumph revealed the updated Bonneville range. The range consists of some truly beautiful motorcycles. Each of these motorcycles get a set of updates and other changes.

2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin:
The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin looks very similar to the outgoing model. An eye for detail though, will notice that there are quite a few changes in terms of the design and styling. It gets new decals on the fuel tank, new 10-spoke cast alloy wheels, aluminium headlamp brackets, new throttle body covers, and a redesigned ribbed seat with more foam.

The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin is powered by the same air and oil-cooled, 900cc, parallel-twin engine. It has a maximum power output of 64.1bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque output of 80Nm at 3,800rpm and is now Euro 5 / BS6 emissions norms compliant. A five-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel.

The Triumph Bonneville Street Twin rides on a telescopic fork up front and twin shocks at the rear. Single disc brakes at both ends of the motorcycle handle braking duties. The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin is priced at Rs 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 50,000 higher than the older model’s price.

2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin Gold Line
The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin Gold Line is a limited edition model based on the Street Twin. It retains the design and mechanicals of the Triumph Street Twin. The difference lies in the styling.

It gets a Matte Blac paint job with decals finished in an attractive shade of Gold. The pinstripes on the tank are hand-finished. The 10-spoke alloy wheels too get a Gold-coloured outline. Only 1,000 units of the 2021 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin GoldLine will be made worldwide. It is priced at Rs 8,25,000 (ex-showroom).

2021 Triumph Bonneville T100
The 2021 Triumph Bonneville T100 retains the design language of the outgoing model but gets a few updates in the styling department. The motorcycle gets few Chrome parts when compared to the older version. The cam covers engine cases, sprocket guard, exhaust system are all now Black in colour.

The updates to the T100 are more than just skin-deep. It gets a redesigned instrument cluster and an updated engine as well. The 2021 Triumph Bonneville T100 is powered by the same air and oil-cooled, 900cc, high-torque engine as the outgoing model.

However, the power output has increased to 64bhp at 7,400rpm while the peak torque output remains the same at 80Nm. The rev-limit has also increased by 500rpm. The engine gets a lighter clutch, lighter crankshaft, new balance shafts, magnesium cam covers, revised cam profiles, etc.
It gets new cycle parts too – Brembo brake calipers, 41mm fork up front, etc. The 2021 Triumph Bonneville T100 is priced at Rs 9,29,000 (ex-showroom).

2021 Triumph Bonneville T120 & T120 Black
The Triumph Bonneville T120 is probably the most classic version of the Bonneville in existence. It looks classy with loads of Chrome. It retains the same design and styling as the outgoing model and still rides on spoked wheels. Styling updates come in the form of a new 3D logo, redesigned instrumentation, machined engine fins, contrasting seat beading, etc.

Triumph India has also launched the T120 Black. It is based on the T120, but features Blacked out styling. The engine cases, mirror housings, exhaust system, wheels, are all now Black in colour. The only parts that are not Black are the disc brakes, throttle bodies, throttle body covers, and badging.

Both variants of the Triumph Bonneville T120 are powered by the same engine. It is an air and oil-cooled, 1,200cc, parallel-twin engine with a maximum power output of 78.9bhp at 6,550rpm and a peak torque output of 105Nm at 3,500rpm. Both motorcycles get two riding modes – road and Rain. They come with switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS, cruise control, etc.
The 2021 Triumph Bonneville T120 and T120 Black are both priced at Rs 10,65,000 (ex-showroom).

2021 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster
The Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is an old-school cruiser with a torquey engine. It retains the design and styling from the outgoing model. However, it features new mechanical upgrades. It is powered by an air and oil-cooled, 1,200cc, parallel-twin engine with a maximum power output of 78bhp and a peak torque of 106Nm.

Engine internals get a revamp too in the form of lighter clutch, lighter crankshaft, new balance shafts, magnesium cam covers, revised cam profiles, etc. The brakes are more powerful thanks to calipers and brake pads from Brembo. The motorcycle handles better thanks to a new 47mm telescopic fork from Showa.

Thoughts On The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Range Being Launched In India
The Bonneville family makes up most of the sales for Triumph. Of the models launched, the Street Twin will be the bestseller, again. Triumph, however, has not launched the Thruxton and Bobber, this could be due to negligible sales numbers. Bookings are now open at all Triumph dealerships across the country. Deliveries are expected to begin soon.
