Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Bonneville Bobber in India. The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber features a price tag of Rs 11.75 lakh, ex-showroom (India). Bookings for the motorcycle is being accepted online.

The 2021 Bonneville Bobber is available in three colour schemes: Matt Storm Grey Matt Ironstone, Cordovan Red, Jet Black. The new bobber motorcycle is powered by an updated version of the same 1200cc engine that powered the BS4 motorcycles.

The liquid-cooled, SOHC, parallel-twin, fuel-injected 1200cc engine produces 76.9bhp at 6100rpm, and 106Nm at 4000rpm. The engine comes mated a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch as standard.

This includes the single rider seat, a tear-drop shaped fuel tank, round-shaped headlamp, tail-lamp, and turn-signal indicators, bar-end mirrors, single-pod semi-digital instrument cluster, fork gators, single-piece wide handlebar, and forward-set footpegs.

The Bonneville Bobber also features dual chrome finished exhausts on either side and the ‘Bobber Bonneville’ badge on the side covers. The bobber motorcycle is based on the Bonneville T120, however, due to the character of the motorcycle, the wheelbase has been increased by 50mm.

With a 12-litre fuel tank and fuel onboard, the motorcycle tips the scale at 251 kilograms. The seat height of the motorcycle can be adjusted between 690mm and 700 mm. The motorcycle uses a steel twin cradle frame for superior handling characteristics.

Suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by 47mm Showa cartridge USD forks at the front and a mono-shock unit at the rear. Braking on the motorcycle is done via dual 310mm disc brakes with Brembo 2-pot callipers at the front and a single 255mm disc brake with Nissin single pot calliper at the rear.

The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber sits on 32 wire-spoke 16 inch wheels shod with tubeless tyres at either end. Triumph’s ride-by-wire system enables the motorcycle to feature two riding modes: ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’. These difference between the maps includes the throttle response and traction control settings to add to confidence and safety in all conditions.

Other electronic rider aids on the motorcycle include Traction Control and the Anti-lock Brake System. According to the company, the Bonneville Bobber features a very high service interval of 16,000 kilometres helps to keep the ongoing cost of ownership low.

Additionally, the company is offering the bobber motorcycle with a range of 77 genuine accessories. This includes an alternative high bar set-up, luggage and choice of seating options, and its class-leading adjustable seating and footpeg position; among others.

Speaking on the launch, Mr Shoeb Farooq, Business Head, Triumph Motorcycles India, said, “The Triumph Bobber has always had a demand among Indian customers and due to this we decided to bring the Bobber back after a gap of 1 year. The 2021 Bobber features new updates, with the blacked-out finishing giving the motorcycle a more stunning appeal. I’m sure the Bobber will make it to the garages of enthusiasts who have an eye for beautiful motorcycles with engaging performance.”

He further added, “With the launch of the Bobber, our Modern Classic line-up now has an overall of 9 motorcycles including 3 special editions which, by far is the largest modern classic portfolio offered by a premium manufacturer in the country offering motorcycles from 900ccc up to a 1200cc platform.”
